This policy explains what TermLantern ("TermLantern", "we", "us") collects when you use termlantern.com, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
What we collect
Information you give us. When you request funding or contact us, we collect what you enter: your name, business name, phone, email, business address, time in business, revenue figures, requested amount, and any bank or processing statements you upload. If you sign an application, we collect your electronic signature and the date, time and IP address of signing.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we receive your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view and the referring page. We use a first-party analytics tag and standard server logs. We do not use advertising pixels on this site unless this policy is updated to say so.
How we use it
We use your information to evaluate your funding request, to present options from our network of funding partners, to contact you about your request, to keep our records and comply with law, and to improve this site. Revenue and statement data are used only to assess funding options and are not sold.
Who we share it with
TermLantern works with an exclusive network of funding partners and marketing partners. When you submit a request, we may share your information with those partners to evaluate and present funding options. We do not sell your information for unrelated purposes.
We also share information with service providers who host this site, store documents, send email and text messages, and process signatures on our behalf, under contracts that limit their use of it; with professional advisers; and when the law, a court or a regulator requires it.
Text messages and calls
When you provide a phone number and agree to be contacted, we and our funding partners may call or text you about your request, including with automated technology. Consent is not a condition of receiving funding. Reply STOP to any text to opt out, or tell the person who calls you. Message and data rates may apply.
Cookies
This site uses a small number of first-party cookies and local storage to remember form progress and measure traffic. You can clear or block them in your browser; the apply form still works without them.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Residents of California and other states with privacy laws have the right to know, delete, correct and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; we do not sell personal information. To exercise any of these rights, email team@termlantern.com. We will verify your identity before acting on a request.
Retention and security
We keep application records for as long as needed to serve your request and meet our legal and contractual obligations, then delete or anonymize them. Documents are stored encrypted at rest and transferred over TLS. No method of storage is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will notify you as the law requires.
Children
This site is for business owners and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
